As the National Urban League embarks on its 100th year of service, one cannot help but to reflect on what the Urban League meant then and what it means now. Historically, the National Urban League has been committed to empowering communities and changing the lives of people based on the needs of the people. As times have changed, needs have changed, and as needs change, how we will address those needs must also change. Since 1910, the Urban League by its very design has focused on answering that one question: "How do we address the needs of the people?" The response to this question is what the Urban League "MOVEMENT" is all about.

As Young Professionals, it is our RESPONSIBILITY to answer this same question as it relates to current and future young professionals in the City of New Orleans. In doing so, we must remain committed to building and refining young professionals.

We will reach higher by utilizing our collective resources. We will envision greater by investing the lessons we've learned into the lives of future generations of young professionals. And in our efforts to reach higher and envision greater, we will be better…better professionals, better leaders and better people.
